impact.com/performance December 2024 Release: Enhanced email workflows, tracking improvements, and more
Enhanced Email Workflows and Messaging Templates with Cc and Bcc Fields
You can now add Cc (Carbon Copy) and Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy) fields in both Newsletters and Email Workflow for enhanced flexibility and control over email communications. These fields allow brands to include additional recipients via Cc for visibility or maintain confidentiality using Bcc for hidden recipients.
Email Workflows with Cc and Bcc fields enable tracking additional data about emails sent outside the platform and keep internal teams informed about outgoing communications. The feature is available exclusively to Pro and Enterprise editions with access to Email Workflows.
Please note that for both Newsletters and Email Workflows:
Each Cc and Bcc field is limited to one email address.
The configured Cc or Bcc email address will receive a copy of every partner email sent. Depending on segment conditions, this may result in a high volume of emails being sent to the configured address.
Connect Your Personal Work Email!
You can now connect your work email directly to the impact.com platform, enabling you to send prospecting emails to affiliates and creators from your own trusted email address. Emails sent from your domain are more likely to reach recipients’ inboxes. Partners are more likely to open emails from your brand’s domain, enhancing engagement and response.
For more information on how to use this new feature, check out our help documentation. This feature is available to all Pro and Enterprise customers.
Additional parameters now available for contracting
You can now create payouts based on Numeric4-10 and Date4-10. In addition, you can payout on Param5-10 for CPCv2 click events.
Visual verification status for media properties
We’ve added a visual verification status indicator to each media property in the slide-out panel. This feature allows you to easily see whether their media properties have been verified, enhancing transparency and improving workflow efficiency.
Custom field filters on Pending Application screen
We’ve enhanced the Pending Application Screen with Custom Field Filters, providing Enterprise and Pro users with more control and flexibility when managing applications. This update allows users to view custom field and survey questions within columns, enabling a more detailed and tailored review process. Users can enable or disable these custom field columns to customize their view as needed.
For advanced filtering, a slide-out panel now allows multi-search functionality, making it easier to filter across all custom fields and survey questions.
Your partners' HTML tracking code now includes “rel=sponsored” by default
As a best practice, Google recommends adding the “rel=sponsored” value to all paid or sponsored links, and your impact.com tracking links fall into that bucket. Adding this value may not directly improve your SEO, but Google could penalize search rankings when “rel=sponsored” is omitted from links that it deems to be paid. So to make it easy for you and your partners to stay in Google’s good graces, we’re adding that value by default to the HTML code that partners use to create tracking links.
Note: the "rel=sponsored" value is an attribute of the link, rather than a parameter within the link. So while it will be visible to Google's crawlers, it will not show up in the URL itself.
Add dynamic fields to your ad metadata (if you’re into that kind of thing)
You may know that you can add metadata to your ads. This can be useful for downstream reporting purposes — for instance, you may have added TrafficSource=partner or something like that to make sure Google Analytics knows how to categorize your traffic.
Previously, we only allowed static values in metadata. But now, we’re enabling two dynamic values: {iradid} and {irpid}. You can assign those values to any parameter you like, and they will automatically populate the relevant Ad ID or Partner ID on click.
Oh, and speaking of online tracking links….
A new look for the Edit Online Tracking Link screen
I don’t know if I’m supposed to tell you this, but let’s be real: we’re way down at the bottom of the release notes, and if you’ve made it all the way down here, I have to assume you’re a quality individual who can be trusted with this sort of thing.
So anyway, behind the scenes, we’re working on a slick new user interface. You’ll see most of the new UI all at once at some point in the future. But with this release, we’re pushing out the new version of the Edit Online Tracking Link screen. Rather than having to click into each setting and save changes one at a time (as in the screenshot above), you’ll see all the options right from the start, and you can make any changes you like without having to expand individual sections. Give it a try by hovering over your Online Tracking Link and clicking Update.
