The latest developments in our fight against fraud
To ensure we’re eliminating as much Conversion Spoofing as possible, our team has added a new automated check. You may now see the reason code “Unexpected Conversion Method”. As with the other reason codes, this does not conclusively guarantee that the flagged conversion was generated fraudulently, but it does indicate that the conversion is highly likely to be fraudulent.
As always, you can check these flagged orders in the Risk Review tab. If you determine the conversions were legitimate, you can approve them.
New skill unlocked: the Snapshot widget pivot
The true data nerds professionals among us already know that several of the visualizations in Data Lab allow for pivoting — splitting out a given value into different categories, like so:
That pivot functionality now works in the Snapshot widget as well, giving you a slick new way to highlight key points in your custom reports and dashboards. We obviously can’t guarantee that your boss will instantly promote you when she sees your latest dashboard, but let’s just say we wouldn’t be surprised.
Heads up — we are deprecating the old versions of the partner signup flow in coming months
Over the last several years. we’ve been steadily improving the partner signup flow — that is, the series of screens a prospective partner sees as they sign up to join your program. And while most folks on our platform are using the latest and greatest version, there are still a few programs using the older versions.
We’ve recently made some improvements to the signup flow on the back end, and we’re now confident that there’s no longer a need for anyone to remain on the older versions. To that end, we are migrating any programs that were on an old version of the signup flow to now be on the new version over the next few months.
If that’s you, don’t worry — you don’t need to do anything to facilitate this migration. We’ll handle it on the back end. That said, we do recommend that you review your partner signup page, click through the process, and make sure it looks as it should. If you want to make any changes, you can learn how to do so in this help article, Customize Your impact.com Branding: Partner Sign Up Branding.
For those brands already upgraded, your partners will now see and need to accept the impact.com Master Program Agreement and Partner Agreement in signup.
Partners will receive communications outlining what's changing and whether any action is needed.
Improved clarity on property verification labels
We’ve updated how Verification is displayed on media properties to make it easier to understand what it means and when it applies.
impact.com “verification” means that a creator has proactively authenticated ownership of a media property (like a social account or website) by connecting it directly to their impact.com account. This process confirms that the property truly belongs to the partner.
Verified: This user has connected this property to their impact.com account, confirming ownership.
Not Verified: This user has not connected this property to their impact.com account. Ownership is not yet confirmed.
No Verification Required: This property type doesn’t require verification through impact.com (e.g., some third-party properties or email domains).
Expanded API: Promo Code Exception Lists
You can now access Promo Code Exception Lists via API, alongside existing SKU and Category lists. With this release, we’ve added support for Promo Code Exception Lists. Manage all three types - SKU, Category, and Promo Code via API.
View invoice costs broken down by Campaign
Previously, when viewing invoices, you could only see costs broken down by partner or event type. Now, we’ve added the ability to break down invoice costs by campaign as well. This enhancement gives you clearer insight into your spend across specific campaigns, making financial tracking and reporting easier than ever.
Just head to your invoice view and select the Campaign breakdown option to get started.
View cross-program data in your chosen currency in Data Lab
If you manage multiple programs, each with their own default currencies, you probably already know that it was not previously possible to standardize all those programs into a single currency in Data Lab for reporting purposes.
So while you could pull the data from those separate programs into a single Data Lab visualization, any monetary values would be shown in that program’s default currency, which made it hard to compare them.
We have now added a drop down menu that allows you to select a currency. Doing so will convert all currencies to your chosen currency and allow you to compare apples to apples (or your fruit of choice) much more easily.
What’s better than a new Deal? Two new Deals!
Faithful readers will remember that we have been steadily revamping our Asset (formerly known as Ad) and Deal pages, including:
We’re continuing that trend in this release, with new screens to create and edit the Rebate and Gift with Purchase deal types. As before, these will come along a bit after the main release — you’ll see the updated versions in about a week.
